The bike ride was cold tonight. There were only five of us tonight, but we seemed larger in number as a cascade of lights flowed down the city streets. Lungs burning from breathing heavy cold air. Lights flickering in the darkness and cars cautiously passing by in rhythmic sounds of wind being pushed. I feel weighted down on some of the roads, other times it seems like I’m just floating along. You could see the heat from our bodies as we exhaled; warmed only by the fire in our lungs and in our legs.
