So it’s almost the end of the quarter which I’ve been needing so bad lately. The summation of all the small amount of hours missed sleeping and doing homework eventually adds up towards the end of the quarter and just puts lethargic bag over my head. I’ve just been so physically drained from the little bits of pieces. It’s not entirely that stressful its just more amounts of mental and physical activity I am used to; but I guess its good, I should get used to it.
In my image manipulation class I often help out my classmates around me, some of which know I’m a tad bit more familiar in Photoshop than they are. I don’t mind helping at all, most ask nicely and have relatively simple problems which are easy to solve. It feels nice to feel useful again, kind of how my job in Boston made me feel at times. One of my classmates suggested I should tutor and I immediately replied with “ahh, I don’t know” but then she mentioned it would be easy money for me and I didn’t realize we would be paid by the school (I believe.) So now I’m seriously considering tutoring for such classes like image manipulation or perhaps typography. I think I would need some kind of approval through the appropriate teacher to do so, plus it would require me to be on campus more than I want to, however next quarter it might be nice on days when I get out at 430 (traffic is horrendous going home at this time) and I guess I could stand to hang out for three more hours (730 traffic free ups) and help some kid out while I’m at it.
I think around the time when my unemployment starts to run out I’ll consider tutoring but for now, I think I’ll pass.
Apparently a new iPhone is out soon, I don’t plan on getting it since most of the new stuff added is software based. The hardware changes are pretty insignificant: slightly faster processor, more disk space, 3 megapixel camera, from 1 or 2 megapixels, big wup. One thing that kind of erked me was that the new heaphone + headset + remotes work only with the new iPhone, something they introduced for the new Shuffle. Oh well, its not that big of a deal, most of the much needed features will be software.
I have two more homework assignments to do for this week, a drawing and a color grid — not too bad. In total, I have two final exams to do, one final practicum and two final assignments due on the last week. If there’s one thing I can’t stand is a ton of final exams.
Also today I noticed one of the girls at the cage (place where we print and rent equipment) had this amazing Australian accent or maybe New Zealand; I ignorantly admit I can’t tell the difference. Anyway, it was really subtle though, which maybe would imply she’s been in the states for awhile, but it’s always refreshing to hear accents and stuff for some reason. Especially when most girls in the OC (guys too) have that goddamn upward inflection. However, I hate them at the cage because they wouldn’t print on watercolor paper with the color laser machine, in fear it would break it. Fucking christ.
I can’t wait till I get the next three week off! Then going down to San Diego for some fucking bike riding and going to Comic-Con drunk!
