So with my loan money I ordered a MacBook Pro, should be coming in the mail soon. Although I don’t get Apples shipping methods, according to the tracking it came from China, went to Oakland CA then on over to Memphis Tenessee… I live in southern California mind you. I don’t get it either.
I also ordered a new lighter wheelset for the century I will be doing in a week (!!!) Those hopefully will be in by Saturday, which I don’t think should be a problem.
However this week I have popped three or four tubes. Which run me about $5-7 (I buy these fancy ones that come in zip lock baggies and come pre-talc’d.) First one actually, was just an old tube I had originally installed on the bike and the valve broke, I swapped it out. Later that night my front wheel gets a flat, valve also busted a few days before (but still functioned) and swapped that out. I normally carry two tubes on me in my hipbag and I went riding tonight. I hit this really sharp rock square on and it pops my back tube. Little did I know, the rock was big enough to puncture a large hole in my tire so upon installing the new tire, the tube popped at the weak puncture spot of the tire, there goes ANOTHER tube. We installed the new tube and finally noticed the buldge of tube coming out of the puncture, so we deflated it and put in a folded dollar bill between the tube and puncture spot on the tire and pumped it back up, good enough to ride home.
For some reason I can’t do the math right now but I popped either three or four tubes this week alone and I need to buy a new tire and two new spare tubes (I like to carry two on me when I ride.) Oh yeah and the pressure gauge on my pump broke, but at least it still pumps and I’ve used it several times now and I do like it as it functions almost like a floor pump and you can quickly pump a tire up to 100+ psi in under a minute, it does however only go up to 130 psi I believe.
