Although this isn’t as serious as my last lost item it makes me realize how much I hate losing shit. I think I need to start putting my keys in my pocket again instead of hanging it on a carabiner, which is what I’ve been doing now for the past several months or so. I bought this tiny 8GB usb thumb drive for $20 bucks and was thrilled at how small and light it was. I hooked it to a sturdy keyloop and everything, only taking it off to use. I didn’t even leave it somewhere, it just fell off my carabiner some how, most likely while I was getting the thing off my belt to use on my car. Even though it was only $20 bucks (I’m not wasteful with money but $20 bucks isn’t that much) and it only really had a few files on it from school and such, it’s just too bad I didn’t have it for long enough to say it had a good run (had it only for three months!) I remember when I first got it I was worried it’d be small enough to forget somewhere or lose. However, the way I had it on my carabiner wouldn’t have made it any other usb drive any less suspectible of falling off, I guess I would’ve just heard it hit the ground. I can’t even say where I lost it, I hadn’t used it for a few weeks now. So it could be anywhere.

What’s also kind of funny is, last week I found a person’s usb drive in the computer lab. I had to poke around one of the word docs for the owners name. Looked up the name in the student directory we have access to on a website and emailed her about it and eventually we met up and I returned it to her. Although not as crazy nice as the person returning my wallet, I’d like to think the gesture was appreciated. Who knows, someone might find my tiny little thumb drive and email me about it.

I just ordered another one by the way, this time I plan on putting my keys in my pocket again. I must think of another way to keep this thumb drive on me more securely. If I manage to lose it again, I think I will just opt to buy something bigger, that I could at least hear if dropped.
