Next System.

I’ll be starting school this coming year and most likely will use some loan money for a new computer. I’ve been toying around with the idea of getting a MacBook of some sort. However I was also thinking of maybe replacing my old system with something new and beefier, but with OSX on it. I’ve been reading up on “fail-proof” dongle devices that aid you installing OSX on commodity hardware. Although hardware-wise I would save money versus a Mac Pro, I would end up spending a bit more on the EFIX dongle alone and spending more than I would for a PC. Of course, I could always just get said MacBook Pro and dual boot Windows on it (for my comfort). There are certain things to using a laptop I can never really get over though. I’m not entirely comfortable with copious amounts of mobility–as I prefer comforts of my own home. Plus I have two 24″ LCDs at home that make looking at any other display pretty disapointing.
Most likely I will end up just going with the MacBook, maybe build a OSX system later down the line for kicks. Least with the laptop everything is always done with me and with sexy looking hardware to boot.
Nerd out.
