Remembrance.

We went to the premiere that night. She had her yellow dress with the high waistline; I in my old, brown thrift store bought coat. I don’t recall what time of the year it was, but in Los Angeles, seasons really never mattered. I remember it rained as we came back. We started off as a stroll down the street but slowly we hurried, because I guess, rain has the tendency to do so. We laughed and ran down the streets as if we were trying to out run the authorities. Finally we arrived outside of her apartment, soaked in the rain.

I remember us smiling for no reason other than being around each other. There was a screen of white noise from the rain drops.

We never felt the need to explain much to each other. Things seemed less complicated until it ended.

I imagine, everything ends up that way.
